The One On The Bullet Train

Question: Why should India have a bullet train? Is it mandatory, or just a project to satisfy the BJP's ego?

Background: - Balaji Viswanathan is my favorite Quoran. He is man of many virtues. His political views are little inclined to the currently ruling party of India - The BJP. However, he does not support their policies blindly. Each of his answer has a sound logic for why he supports or condemns government's policies.
